Survival Courses – Perthshire
Our Summer Survival Courses in Scotland run from March to the end of October and take place in the Cairngorms National Park – the largest National Park in Europe and one of Britain’s last true wildernesses – and in Northern Perthshire – the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. All summer courses are run as multi-environmental and cover a wide range of terrains from Boreal woodlands to mountainous and hillside, rivers and gorges, providing you with a more rounded experience in a range of techniques.

The Overview for the Full Day Survival Course – Under 18s Only includes the following:
For any young person aged 10 – 17 who are interested in delving deeper into the subject matter we recommend the full day course, participants are introduced to the survival principles and models to contextualize what they will be learning and why, along with a Survival tin and equipment demonstration.
The full-day course is designed as a solid foundation to anyone wanting to learn survival skills and develop a stronger understanding on how to stay safe outdoors.
The full-day course is run within a forest environment.
The Itinerary for the Full Day Survival Course – Under 18s Only includes the following:
Principles & Priorities of Survival
Kit and equipment
Introduction to protection from the elements including:
• Clothing systems
• Layering systems
• Survival Tins
Woodland Shelter including:
• Thermal A-frames and Lean-to’s
• Introduction to Friction Fire and ignition sources such as chemical, solar and spark ignition, fire maintenance and upkeep.
Introduction to signalling for help and attracting attention, emergency procedures.

Finding and making safe water.
